Lovely Rain

My garden is enjoying this wet weather. the bird bath is full almost to the brim. The Maggies are very pleased. I couldn't get a photo of them though, they were to quick for me.
and my pale Cooktown Orchids are beginning to bloom..
I finished my bit of hand quilting and started on a little redwork that I had traced out. I am slowly catching up on my lasped work schedule.
My Lucy blocks have been calling as well, so I have begun doing some of the background hexies to see what it looked like.
I also received some nice mail. I love the "daily deals" over at Fee's Shabby Shack" especially for very cute trim and sweet buttons...cannot resist!
Sooo pretty! I am looking forward to playing with them.
Thank you all for your kind comments last post. I had quite a lot of "non-reply" bloggers so I have not been able to respond to your comments but they were appreciated and your names are in the draw :)
Little quote I like:

Enjoy your day.

  1. Isn't the rain wonderful? Your orchid is lovely, and well done for blooming after all the hot weather. mine are alive, but looking sad. I'll have to find out your secret. Your busy fingers are so active - great projects coming to life there. I checked the website for those pearl buttons, but could not find them. Maybe they are already finished?

  2. I love that quote, Michelle - it's so true. and here in Ballarat we're having rain for the first time in ages and I bet the plants are loving it. It has been so dry here for so long and the garden is taking a while to recover from January's extreme heat. Aren't those little button cards from Fee gorgeous - I'm planning to frame mine and give the others to friends. Enjoy the rest of your week, Michelle.

  11. We're having rain too, have had some over the past couple of days......it's very welcome! Your orchids look lovely, mine had to be moved when our tree fell down recently so that will probably set them back somewhat.

  21. Rain after a period of absence is always welcome. I’d love to see long shots of your garden Michelle. The snippets you show always look so inviting and Im looking for garden ideas!

Love that Lucy block ...I’m meant to be finishing those darn orange peels before I start any of mine but surely doing one block just to test out my skills wouldn’t REALLY be cheating would it?
